This week’s blog post is a DIY! I haven’t done a DIY post in a while and never one that is “beauty” related, so I hope you enjoy. I personally think that pore strips are very fun to do and can give some really good results. The most common pore strips that you will find at your local drugstore are Biore. One box of six pore strips is about $6.00, but this DIY will cost you no more than $1.00. And, you will probably have around 2 years worth of pore strips! The only thing you need for this DIY is glue.  I would recommend basic Elmers school glue since you can’t go wrong, and it is incredibly cheap. The second thing you will need is a Q-tip, which is optional. I have personally found that Q-tips are the easiest way to apply the glue to your nose, but you can use whatever means of application you want.

Once you have your glue and Q-tips, the rest is very self-explanatory. All you have to do is take your Q-tip, dip it into the glue and spread on your desired area. Once you have applied an even layer of glue, simply wait for the glue to dry. When you first apply the glue, it should start out as white.  You will know when it is dry, since it will turn clear. If you don’t have much time and want to speed up the process, you can blow dry the glue with a blow dryer. Once your pore strip is completely clear, you can peel it off.

I use this method around once to twice a month. I don’t use pore strips very often, but that is just what works for me and that will change from person to person. I hope you liked this week’s post, I really enjoyed writing a new DIY post since I haven’t done one in so long! Thank you so much for reading this post and I hope that next time you run out of pore strips, you try this out! – Suki <3

March just ended, so I decided to share some of my favorite music from March! I have been into more 90’s, 70’s, and especially 80’s music. My favorite “album” at the moment is the “Stranger Things” album. I have it on vinyl, and I love it since it is a mix of a bunch of 80’s songs. Most of the songs I mention can be found on that album.

“Should I Stay or Should I Go”  – The Clash

“Nocturnal Me”  – Echo and The Bunnymen

“Hazy Shade of Winter”  – The Bangles

“Whip It” – Devo

“Talking in Your Sleep”  –  The Romantics

“Every Breath You Take”  – The Police

“Don’t Stop Believing” – Journey

“867-5309” – Tommy Tutone

“Sunglasses At Night” – Corey Hart

“It’s Raining Men”  – The Weather Girls (not pictured)

“Video Killed the Radio Star”  – The Buggles

Nightly Skin Care Routine

This week I thought I would change it up and do something I have never done before and do a skincare routine. Although I don’t have the best skin, I do have relatively clear skin for the most part. I thought I would share my routine on how I keep my skin clear.

I only wash my face once a day and that is when I am in the shower. I will use my Dr. Bronners Hemp-peppermint cleanser. This cleanser has so many different uses and I have found that it is really effective. I love it since all the ingredients are natural and organic!

Once I am done washing my face, I spritz on my Lush toner. Lush has multiple toners and this is the first Lush one I have used.  It is called Breath of Fresh Air. I am also naturally very red, so I find that this toner is really great for calming down my redness.   ( I am sorry the photos are slightly blurry, I am trying to use my camera more and more and it is taking some getting used too)

Next I apply my moisturizer. I personally love the Embryolisse moisturizer. I have tried many moisturizers and this has consistently been my favorite. You don’t need very much to get really great hydration. This is all I do before bed. I know it is not very much, but I think with skin care, less is more.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post and got something from it! Thank you so much for reading this week’s post and please subscribe so that you get an email when I post next! Have an amazing rest of your week! – Suki <3

Healthy Banana Pancakes

I know this may sound crazy, but I am not a huge fan of pancakes. With that being said, I love banana pancakes. The other crazy thing is that I don’t like bananas either. So, who would have thought that banana pancakes would become my favorite healthy breakfast. Anyways, these pancakes are so simple and fast to make, along with being delicious!

(you may switch out the ingredients to fit your diet)

  • 2 bananas
  • 2 eggs
  • 4-5 tbsp coconut flakes
  • honey (optional)
  • vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1-2 tbsp Chia seeds

Add your bananas to a medium size bowl and mash with a fork. Once your bananas are at an evenly mashed consistency, you can add your eggs. Simply stir the two together until combined. Then, time to add your coconut flakes, which act as the flour or the binder to keep the two eggs and banana together. Once these are all mixed together, you have your batter.  It may seem a bit lumpy, but it will turn out fine in the end. If your batter is too liquidy, you can add more coconut flakes to even out the consistency. If you want to go super simple, you can cook your pancakes from here. Each time I make this recipe, I have slowly found different ingredients I like to add. For example, I will add some honey, since I love the flavor of honey and the sweetness it brings. I would highly recommend adding Chia seeds if you have them. They don’t change the flavor, but they do improve the health benefits you will get from this breakfast, setting you up for a better and healthier day! I like to add vanilla extract since it brings that little something I love into these pancakes. You can swap out ingredients and add ingredients if you want as well. Once you have added all your ingredients, heat up a pan over low-medium heat.  Adjust the heat as needed. Pour small amounts into the pan to create the pancakes (depending on the size pancake you like).  Once they begin to form bubbles, you should flip them. Be aware that it is much faster to cook the second side than it is the first side, so once you have flipped the pancake, be ready to take them off the stove quickly! When you are done with your pancakes, you can top them with whatever you want. Personally, I love to drizzle them with honey and then add more coconut and chia. Sometimes, during the winter I will add cinnamon to the pancake mix and sprinkle some on top as well!

If you make these, please be sure to send me a picture, it would make my day to see them! Thank you so much for reading this post, and I hope you get to try these out soon! Make sure to come back for another post next week!- Suki <3
